{"id":388,"date":"2017-01-31T05:55:15","date_gmt":"2017-01-31T05:55:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/simpreative.in\/Projects\/marian-staylor\/?p=388"},"modified":"2024-03-06T00:16:25","modified_gmt":"2024-03-06T00:16:25","slug":"existential-exigency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/simpreative.in\/Projects\/marian-staylor\/existential-exigency\/","title":{"rendered":"Existential Exigency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Existentialism<em>\u00a0\u2013 a philosophical movement stressing the importance of personal experience and responsibility for what we make of ourselves.<\/em><br \/>\nExigency<em>\u00a0\u2013 crisis, emergency, a case or situation that demands prompt action.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on the words of Oliver Wendell Holmes\u2026<br \/>\n<em>What lies behind us<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And what lies ahead of us<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Are tiny matters compared to<\/em><br \/>\n<em>What lies within us\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I find comfort in knowing that Spirit is my guide and\u00a0<em>center<\/em>\u00a0and that my personal relationship with Spirit is my personal responsibility as I seek to connect with my God\/Spirit\/Higher Power. This interconnectedness with Spirit can and does happen\u2026Amen\u2026 and it guides us in a variety of ways and through a variety of experiences. Even those not so pleasant experiences can be the catalyst that guides us back to Source\u2026<\/p>\n<p>No matter how you find and recognize Spirit in your life, it seems such a comfort to know that Spirit is always with us and we can connect with Source at any moment in any circumstance in a personal and intimate way\u2026\u00a0 recognizing the Light within and the interconnectedness of all things\u2026 knowing that this perspective will guide our response for the highest good of all.<\/p>\n<p>In recognizing this connectedness through spiritual love and peace-filled interactions we can answer the call to service and extend our heartfelt outreach as an extension of our personal relationship with Spirit. Having this personal connection is that\u00a0<em>warm place in the heart<\/em>\u00a0that allows us to go through conflicting moments, but brings us back to what\u2019s really important and what really matters\u2026 like a tiny lighthouse in the heart that shines a beacon for us to find the way\u00a0<em>home<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Many years ago, my husband and I invited another family into our home for dinner. As they arrived, their young son was very animated and nervous to know if we had a television. I assured him that we did and he ran past me yelling\u2026 \u201cEmergency! Emergency!\u201d It was a popular television show and we happily obliged by selecting his channel as the adults settled down at our dinner table.<\/p>\n<p>As I was thinking about Existential Exigencies, I thought of this young boy and his words echoed in my mind\u2026 we are at a crucial crossroads\u2026 that of delving more deeply into our inner most thoughts and feelings and developing a closer and more personal relationship with the Creator.<\/p>\n<p>Yes!.. it is an \u201cEmergency!
